The Cecilia Project is a music program based out of Portland, Oregon and named after the patron saint of music in the Catholic Church. Started by Taylor Kendig and her fiance and fellow classical musician Tanis Gonzaga, this beautiful project provides unique opportunities for kids and teens to partake in workshops and lessons that serve to develop them as whole people through the avenue of performance and self exploration. In addition to the group courses for children, we also offer private voice lessons to adults of all ages.
Workshops Currently Offered:
World Music Appreciation Workshop:
During the course of this workshop, the children will be immersed in the traditions and musical styles of other cultures. Students meet once per week for one and a half hour sessions to engage in songs, videos, activities, and cultural food as they learn about the universality of music as an art form. This course is specifically intended for children between the ages of 7-11. Basic reading and writing skills are recommended. Each student will get the opportunity to travel to other worlds and engage in the beauty of diversity through the lens of an artist.

Artists Innovation Workshop:
During the course of this workshop, students will learn how to better engage in self expression through the arts. Students will be taught valuable music and performance skills and be assisted in the development of their own original works of performance art that will be performed in a showcase during the seasons final weeks. This course, intended for students ages 12-17 years of age, meets up twice per week for hour and a half long sessions, and encourages students to step up and have their own voice be heard. They will cultivate valuable performance skills and grow their own individual relationship with God and the world around them.
